I had the pleasure of knowing Tony growing up. Tony was the tailgating king, always made sure plenty of food and drink. I would always look forward to Sunday’s knowing my father and I would meet up with Tony and Dave Sr. It was my honor to know such a kind, gentle man that he was. Tony you will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers to Maryann and The Roberts family. May he rest in peace. Our Condolences, The Gerardi’s

Dear Mrs Roberts, Dave, Ann Marie and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. The world has lost a genuinely kind and decent man. I grew up hearing “Tony Roberts this and Tony Roberts that”. He entered our life about the time my dad (Joe) lost his dad. Tony became a father figure to my dad and thus we all admired and adored him. He is the reason my dad became a season ticket holder for the NY Jets and it was a “religious” day to go tailgate before the game and sometimes after. Those were mighty good times shared with good people and good laughs. I’m sad to have lost touch with the family while still living locally. Although, I know the house on 55 sold years ago, I still see it as the home to Tony & Maryann Roberts. I am wishing you strength for the coming days, weeks and months ahead. May your memories offer you comfort. I pray that he surrounds you with warm embraces and signs to say he is near. Sending you much love and prayers, Debbie Gerardi Strehl J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets

So saddened by the loss of my good friend, Anthony. One of the best, "Mr Elk" to me, the club was in the best of hands. I Looked forward to stopping and seeing him there, many pleasant conversations. But fondest memories were Jet home games and travels with "The Boys", David/Junior/Averill, Oh the best of times, will never forget. What preparations Tony went to for each game. From my association with Anthony I got to meet a wonderful family, MaryAnne,David,Cheryl and three lovely grandchildren. Always treated me with love and respect, treasured the occasions. I regret now that I did not get to see Tony during our last summer travel to NY, but fortunately I did get to speak to him one last time this past year at Christmas. Much time reminiscing on our travels to the Meadowlands each Sunday in the fall. Regretfully his Jets never got to win him another Superbowl. But he will be viewing from above when they soon do. No doubt this good man is in God's presence. Rest in Peace good buddy, you will always be in fondest memories. Prayers of strength for MaryAnne and all during this difficult time....... RIP.....Mr Jet! "Coach"

Tony and Mary Anne were long time friends of our family. Many happy times were spent together at Elks Club events; especially the earlier days on Washington Street. As a young child, I most remember the afternoon Tony stopped by to help my Dad string Christmas lights for the big blue spruce in our front yard. I still have some of those lights. Tony was a loving, caring, family man and he remains dear to my heart. I will miss him greatly. RIP forever. Lynn (Digilio) Berkley
