Dorothy G. Simmons, 57, of, passed away on January 31, 2023. She was born on October 21, 1965, in Poughkeepsie, New York to Henry and Shirley Swartz Lasher. Dorothy was the wife of Joseph P. Simmons, they were married on September 9, 2012, at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Joseph predeceased her on January 18, 2018. Dorothy was a local resident all her life. She was a Retail Manager at AMES and Big Lots and after she retired, she was a cleaner for LCS. Dorothy was a member of the APA Pool and Reach Out Church of Hyde Park. She loved to Fish, Play BINGO, she loved playing on her tablet, and was an avid Pool Player. Survivors include her children Tina and Edwin LaFumee of Hyde Park, Michael McArthur of Hyde Park, Amanda McArthur of Pleasant Valley, Justin McArthur of Pleasant Valley, also her brothers and sisters, Tammy Robinson of Hyde Park, John and Jill Ronk of Hyde Park, George Lasher of Hyde Park, Sandra Lasher and Charles Pelton of Hyde Park and Jeff and Maria Lasher of Pleasant Valley. Dorothy is also survived by 8 grandchildren Skyla, Edwin, Aiden, Alanna, Mercedes, Lathan, Xavier, Brooke and Taylor and several Nieces and Nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by a brother Henry Lasher Jr. Visitation will be held on Friday February 10, 2023 from 3pm to 5pm at the Reach Out Church 241 Crum Elbow Road, Hyde Park 12538 Funeral Services will follow at 5pm.
