Obituary of Roberto Espinosa

Robert Espinosa, Sr. a resident of Pleasant Valley, NY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2023 after a brief illness. Roberto was born in Havana, Cuba on February 12, 1957 to Carmen Frandin and Julio Espinosa Cuellar. He received his formal education in Cuba before immigrating to the United States in 1980. He was employed by various jobs, most recently at Vassar College for 14 years. He was always known to be a dedicated and hard worker. He enjoyed cooking and having his family for dinner. Robert also painted and had a large collection of his works. His favorite pastime was walking and sitting at the Riverfront enjoying it’s beauty. He will always be remembered for his meticulous appearance and infectious smile. Roberto was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife Lorraine Espinosa LaSand, 3 sons, Roberto Espinosa, Jr., Joseph Espinosa Tisseria, Marcus Antonio Espinosa and one daughter Shavonna Espinosa, all of Poughkeepsie, NY. Roberto is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Iqan, Jacier, Sanai, Braylon, Brielle, Samya, Aria, a special cousin Anna Espinosa of NYC and several siblings in Havana, Cuba. He was predeceased by both parents.

A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
